LEADYou may remember Channing Greene’s 1967 Mercury Park Lane from a few months back, that he decided to move along in favor of something else. And his new purchase is, indeed, something else. You never, ever see a nice 1973 Pontiac Grand Am anymore.

Channing’s plans are to revamp the interior, repaint it to its original Ascot Silver, and get the air conditioning working again.

Channing2He’s also planning on upsizing to 16 or 17-inch Rally II wheels if he can locate a set.

Very cool car. If you’re interested in seeing more pictures, check out Channing’s Flickr stream.

  1. Tony says:

LOVE those Grand Ams!!! Great to see a nice one!

  2. Thanks! The week that I bought this, the guy who bought my Park Lane texted me some pictures a ’73 Grand Am that he saw at a show. It had rust in the same spot as mine! This fall, if all goes as planned, I’ll have this thing painted (including the Rallye 2s) and it’ll look even better.

I am trying to create a photo gallery of 1st and 2nd Generation Grand Ams, so if any of you have any pics of them that you’d like to share with me, please email me at: greenehornet63@gmail.com.

I’ll be heading to the Indian Uprising in St. Charles, IL next weekend (Sat. 8/3) and hoping to find some hard to find parts. (The downside of owning cars that you never see is finding parts that no one stocks!)

Thanks for sharing the pics of my car, Craig!
