I just finished watching the second season of Jerry Seinfeld’s awesome Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The premise of the web series is that Jerry picks up one of his comedian pals in a vintage car that fits their personality and he takes them out for — you guessed it — coffee. Acura sponsors it, and in one of my favorite advertising moves, they don’t try and force the latest alphanumeric Acura down your throat. At the tail end of the show, they run a vintage Honda ad. A lot of them have been motorcycle ads, and they’re fantastic.
This one features a young John Travolta in the lead role, delivering mail to some MILFy 1970s broad, as well as a second vignette starring veteran character actor Cliff Osmond, who’s famous for nothing in particular, but was in just about every television show and movie filmed in the 1960s and 1970s.
In this, he either plays a dad with a kid precariously perched in the way-back of a wagon, or a pedophile narrowly escaping the long arm of the law. You make the call.
